Lake trout was fantastic and now the kings and coho are full force. The rivers are full and there still is good numbers in the lakes so it looks like there are numbers once again. The bait fish population is like I have never seen cloud after cloud.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02592982019305194352noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2616634381370902985.post-57341458968326403792017-06-20T06:34:00.002-07:002017-06-20T06:34:18.843-07:00
The fishing has been really good for lake trout pretty anywhere you want to fish. The kings are also around, we are getting nice ones and really small ones. It looks like it's going to be a great summer. There seems to be more salmon around up and down the lake. Book your trip early, I only have a few open spots left for August!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02592982019305194352noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2616634381370902985.post-77959539649531231602015-09-04T07:35:00.002-07:002015-09-04T07:35:30.762-07:00FallThe kings are hitting the river pretty hard and we are fishing deep in the lake. There seems to be a good number of fish anywhere you go, river, bay, lake. Labor day weekend is upon us and we are experiencing some of the best king action all summer. Get out there!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02592982019305194352noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2616634381370902985.post-80507311716999890042015-08-18T05:27:00.000-07:002015-08-18T05:27:06.082-07:00Mid AugustThere seems to be kings around to the south about 30 miles, but they are taking there time getting here. We are starting to get more bites each day and even a few coho have showed there faces. The trout fishing continues to be good when the wind isn't blowing to hard. It looks like today is the last calm day we are going to have for quite a while. The wind is suppose to blow from all directions to 30 mph so that should certainly make things interesting. The fish seem to be wanting flies, meat, and plugs, so thats what we have been feeding them lately. It seems to be the same each time we head out. A few salmon bites and trout filling up the rest of the trip. Not sure what to expect, I do hear of some good things just to the south. There seem to be salmon showing up so I guess we will wait and see. It seems to flasher and meat rigs doing the damage with the occasional plug and spoon bite.
I only have 2 open mornings and 2 open afternoons for the rest of the month, so we will be fishing a lot over the next month. I will keep you posted. Please follow me on Facebook for up to date things.

The fishing out there 20 miles out was nothing short of phenomenal. Now the wind has been coming out of south and we are seeing some more stable water set up on the drop off. We are starting to see more salmon around but each day is a little different. Sometimes a couple bites or several it all depends. Nothing seems to shine getting bites on spoons, flies, and meat we are putting it all out there and letting it fly. The trout fishing remains good and with nice catches coming in each day. Look forward to see what happens here over the next week hopefully some more salmon will show there faces.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02592982019305194352noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2616634381370902985.post-67881034133922718302015-07-11T10:52:00.003-07:002015-07-11T10:52:49.944-07:00updateThe fishing still remains the same here in Frankfort. The weather has been nice but water is still really cold. The trout fishing remains good no matter which direction you go they are there and hungry. The salmon fishing is far from that. You have to be in the right spot at the right time to get a few salmon bites. Right now they are few and far between but on the bright side they are nice looking fish. Had one almost spool me the other day and it was 16 lbs, they all seem to be 12-16 Lbs right now.
We are looking at some hot weather for the next week so things may change and set up some water temps.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02592982019305194352noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2616634381370902985.post-14280783967163712162015-06-22T19:06:00.002-07:002015-06-22T19:06:35.315-07:00JuneThis past week has been a broken record. There is not a lot of salmon around some days we get 2 others its 5. So with a few salmon and a nice mess of trout it makes for a nice cooler. There is a wide variety of kings some we throw back and others are up to 16lbs.
Should be fishing for steelhead soon so that will be a nice pace. Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02592982019305194352noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2616634381370902985.post-30360080405699625632015-06-08T16:34:00.002-07:002015-06-08T16:34:17.850-07:00Great Weekend! The fishing over the weekend was good. On Thursday and Friday there were a few kings around and then Saturday the wind blew from the east and they were gone. Had a few bites on them on Saturday and fished trout in tough conditions and ended up with a nice cooler full. The next day we primarily fished trout and had a big cooler with a limit of nice fish.
Dodger and spin n glo's were the ticket with slide divers and riggers towards the bottom. This is a great time catching fish in 35-40 fow in cold water. They pull hard and taste great!
Give me a call!

Been cleaning the boat getting it ready with a few small projects. My phone has been ringing with customers booking those prime dates for this summer. If you have a date in mind give me a call to get it scheduled.

The kings seem here and there with no real pattern. The trout fishing continues to be good with size being above average. The surface temperature continues to be in the low 50's which is very cold which is where it has been all summer long. I heard of some coho and kings caught down south so hopefully they will show there faces in the next couple days.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02592982019305194352noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2616634381370902985.post-13260874258910996822014-08-12T13:55:00.000-07:002014-08-12T13:55:14.904-07:00August 12 North windWe have been fishing everyday two trips and the fishing has been pretty much the same. The lake has been flat calm and the trout fishing has been good with a few salmon per trip. We have had the same conditions until day, the wind is howling from the north and had to cancel both trips today. It doesn't look very good for tomorrow either and I really don't expect many salmon to be around. I hope they show up in numbers soon cause it feels like it's getting pretty late in the season, for them not to be around. We fished yesterday morning and ended our trip at 8:30 with 20 fish and most being big kings with a few steelhead and trout mixed in. But today is a different story last night the wind switch to the north and blew hard all night and again today. Tomorrow will be a different story as we will have to yet again search to find out where they went. With so many boats fishing out of my marina it only takes a day for one of us to find fish and locate them. I have trips booked everyday till labor day weekend so lots of time will be spent on the water. I post pictures of my trips on Facebook/fishhuntercharters so check them out there. The salmon have been really hard to find lately with only a couple bites per trip if your lucky. On the other hand the lake trout fishing has been phenomenal the trout are on big side with many between 10-16 lbs. I really think the salmon are not far away and we should see some big fish very soon only time will tell. Usually when this happens it takes a day or two to settle things back down. Had a big box Sunday afternoon as we fished Lake trout on a midday trip. New this year is the Catch and Cook program which these customers enjoyed at a local restaurant. I will prepare the fish for your meal, all you do is show up with a bag of fish. I had the opportunity to try this out and it is a great deal. This is a must try after your trip on the water. I have been updating my Facebook page more frequently, so head over there and like. The first part of the month was exciting with lots of steelhead action offshore. The fishing then turned to closer for kings with some very impressive catches. Then it was a mix bag of kings and trout and it seemed the kings started to leave and it was almost all trout with very king bites. It looks like the trout fishing will continue to be strong until the kings show up in full force again. Meatrigs have dominated the king bite with flies being close second. Spoons have been producing on coppers with one spoon being a standout.

The lake trout kings are around, the salmon are in the 2-10 lb range with very much bigger than that. They seem to be very early biting and very late biting with not much in between. My buddy could not get 5 rods set this morning and after 30 minutes it was over, he only had 3 bites the next 4 hours. We had lots of wind yesterday from the SW then today its from the NW hopefully they stick around. They have been biting on spoons primarily and something orange has been the ticket. Somedays they bite all day long others its first and last thing only. I sure hope they stick around for awhile, if you are planning on taking a trip and have not called yet time is running out with limited spots available. The last few days the fishing was good with coho and big kings around. There still is plenty of fish out there I would expect the fishing to be good for the next couple weeks. Today the wind is blowing from the north and it feels like fall, the fish should be around the harbor. Thank you to all my customers for a great season, if you have dates in mind for next year call me as almost all of my August weekends are already booked. If you would like to hunt for a trophy whitetail at the Sanctuary give me a call, cause we only a limited of hunts still available. Fish Hunter

Most of the catches are consisting of mainly coho with some kings and steelhead mixed in. We have fished way north and out front in deep water. With the changing winds we have had to move around. Should be a nice holiday weekend and I expect the fishing should stay the same with coho being the main catch. Lots of coho and some big kings to mix in. But, now tomorrow we are suppose to have a big SW wind blow. This will probably change things again because its followed by a N wind. This is how it's been all season dealing with constant changes. One day the fish are here then there gone. We are constantly having to search and fish different spots. The boat traffic is horrible so I have been fishing in different spots by myself, most of the time. The fish have a been a mixed bag kings, coho, trout and steelhead. Some days one species dominates then the next another does. Mostly spoons and meatrigs are doing all the damage.
